Our expert team of instructors offer a variety of fun, full-body group fitness workouts for Holland residents to keep you moving and improve your wellness! Group fitness classes are available both in the water and on land. Sign up for the entire season or, if single-session participation is preferred, drop-in rates apply.

Holland, MI Group Fitness Classes
All of the programs listed below are core fitness classes and included with HAC membership unless otherwise noted as a premium wellness class. Premium wellness classes are not included with membership and are an additional cost for all participants.
Our classes fill up quickly, so we strongly recommend that you register in advance, even if you are a non-member.
Aqua Combat
Aqua Combat is a high-energy, low-impact, aqua fitness class that combines kickboxing and mixed martial arts with the resistance and buoyancy of water. It’s designed to improve muscular strength, endurance, coordination, core strength, flexibility, and agility. All levels are welcome!
Aqua Zumba®
Aqua Zumba® is a low-impact, high-energy aqua fitness class that blends the Zumba® philosophy with water resistance. It is a fun and invigorating workout that takes place in our Flex Pool. Aqua Zumba® is perfect for those looking to make a splash by adding aquatic exercise to their Zumba® fitness routine. This class is designed to be less impactful on joints, and the natural resistance of water makes every step more challenging in addition to toning muscles.
Arms & Abs
Build upper body and core strength with this quick but effective workout. This 30-minute class provides a targeted burn to two of the most popular focus areas. All levels are welcome.
Barre Fusion
Barre Fusion is an upbeat, low-impact strength workout that enhances muscle tone, posture, and flexibility. This class blends ballet, functional strength training, and mind-body movement. Exercises are performed with precision and concentration for ultimate results. Each of the movements can be modified to match your unique skill and strength levels.
Cycle Express
Start your morning with this efficient indoor cycling class for all levels. Cycle Express will help you burn calories, challenge yourself, and have fun… in just 30 minutes. Each class features a unique heart-pumping workout customized by the instructor.
Deep Water Athletic Training
Get ready for an intense workout in the deep end of the pool! This class will use water’s natural resistance to challenge your cardiovascular and muscular fitness and improve power production for athletics. A great addition to weight-bearing exercise, deep water athletic conditioning gives your joints a break while strengthening your muscles in a different way. An intermediate level of fitness and confidence in deep water are essential tools for success in this class.
Deep Water Fitness
Deep Water Fitness utilizes the natural resistance of water to deliver maximum results with minimal impact. With consistent effort, you’ll see increased muscle tone, greater strength, and improved flexibility. This class is taught in water at least 12 feet deep and uses flotation belts.
Functional Fitness
Geared toward our active senior population, this purposeful fitness class will mimic everyday tasks with an emphasis on balance to help ease your daily activities. Movement patterns include walking, squatting, bending, pushing, and pulling, as we aim to utilize all of the major muscle groups in your body. Modifications will be offered for those with limited mobility.
Indoor Cycling
This all-level class includes a warm-up, a main workout focused on various cycling drills and positions, and a cool-down. The main workout often includes intervals, hill climbs, sprints, and both seated and standing positions. Your instructor will use verbal cues and upbeat music to guide you through this 45-minute workout.
Intro to HAC Fitness Center
This 45-minute class is a great way to get acquainted with the HAC Fitness Center. Learn to use our cardio and strength machines in a small group setting and get answers to all your burning questions. Attend once or all month long—this class is offered weekly on Tuesdays.
Intro to Indoor Cycling
This 30-minute class will teach the basics of attending an indoor cycling class at HAC, including proper bike setup, how to increase and decrease resistance, different hand positions, and getting comfortable in the saddle. Take your workouts to the next level by giving indoor cycling a try!
Mat Pilates
Build strength, improve posture, and increase flexibility with this low-impact core-focused workout. Using a mat and your body weight, you’ll move through a series of controlled exercises designed to enhance stability, alignment, and mind-body connection. Suitable for all fitness levels.
Move and Stretch
This free-form workout combines full-body stretching and mobility exercises to improve your flexibility and prepare you for the day ahead.
Power Up Strength
Power Up Strength is a full-body workout designed to help improve overall muscular strength. This class incorporates traditional weight-room exercises and equipment such as dumbbells, kettlebells and more. Short bursts of cardio and core work will mix up your fitness routine and challenge your entire body.
Power Yoga Flow
Power Yoga Flow is a mixed-level class designed for participants with some yoga experience. We will link breath and movement together to build strength, balance, flexibility, and confidence on the mat. Each practice will guide you through yoga postures and stretches with intention and alignment awareness. Modifications will be offered to both increase and decrease the challenge as you move within each pose. This class is suitable for yogis, athletes, and anyone looking for a strong and dynamic practice.
Restorative Yoga
Nourish your mind and body with this 45-minute restorative yoga class. Each class consists of a few postures which are held for 5-10 minutes each. A variety of props are available for support. Each pose is treated like Savasana; students are encouraged to dress comfortably in warmer clothing and come ready to relax!
Shallow Water Fitness
Shallow Water Fitness provides a great cardio challenge in a low-impact setting. Our instructors’ routines will raise your heart rate, keep you moving at a fast pace, and increase your flexibility. Water is up to 12 times more resistant than a workout on land, so this is a different kind of full-body workout than you might be used to!
SilverSneakers Classic® Fitness
Silver Sneakers Classic Fitness is a fun, low-impact workout designed to improve your strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Set to motivating music, this class uses a combination of hand-held weights, resistance bands, a small fitness ball, and a chair for seated exercise (or support during standing moves). It’s perfect for active older adults and anyone looking for a safe, effective, and energizing way to stay active.
Water Works (Stretching and Mobility)
Water Works uses warm water to help release and lengthen tight muscles and tissues. Exercises are focused on balance, range of motion, core stability, and posture. It’s ideal for people with arthritis or joint problems and helps make daily tasks easier. The water helps support each movement so you can continue to move freely.
Water Works Plus (Stretching and Mobility)
Water Works Plus is a class built around warm water for the release of tight muscles and lengthening of tissues with the addition of continued restoration. Exercises are focused on balance, range of motion, core stability, and posture. It is ideal for people with arthritis or joint problems and helps make movement better. The water helps support each movement so you can continue to move freely.
Wave Sculpt
Forget the splashy dance moves—this isn’t your average pool party! Wave Sculpt is a no-choreography aquatic circuit class that builds serious strength, power, and stability. With the help of water’s natural drag (800 times denser than air!) and resistance tools at each station, you’ll sculpt your body while giving your joints a break. Come for the waves and stay for the results!
Yoga + Pilates
This hybrid class builds muscle strength and flexibility through fundamental exercises that improve your posture, core strength and flexibility. Participants will be practicing breath control, engaging in dynamic stretches, balance work, core exercises, and coordination. All ability levels are welcome!
Yoga Flow
Yoga Flow is a mixed-level class designed for participants of all abilities. We will link breath and movement together to build strength, balance, flexibility, and confidence on the mat. Each practice will guide you through yoga postures and stretches with intention and alignment awareness while offering modifications to both increase or decrease the challenge as you move within each pose. This is a dynamic class suitable for exactly where you are in your training.
Zumba®
Join the dance party! Get ready for guaranteed fun in this high-energy, Latin-inspired dance class. Zumba® incorporates moves from Salsa, Cumbia, Merengue, Rhumba, Mambo, Belly Dance, Flamenco, Samba, Tango, Reggaeton, and of course, Hip Hop. You’ll forget you’re working out with this fun and easy-to-do aerobic workout that targets your legs, abs, glutes and arms. Best of all, no previous dance experience is necessary!
Fitness Center Equipment & Facilities
Community Fitness Center
Improve all aspects of your wellness at HAC. Access our state-of-the-art community fitness center with a membership or a single-visit pass. Equipment includes:
- Cardio machines, including treadmills, ellipticals, recumbent bikes, upright bikes, stair machines, and rowing machines
- Machine weights for upper and lower body
- Free weights (1-80 pounds)
- Open space for aerobic or plyometric exercise
- Stretching area
- Individual displays on cardio machines
Fitness Room Age Guidelines
Ages 12 to 15: May only use aerobic equipment. Use of any free weights or weight machines is prohibited. Must complete a fitness orientation, have parental consent form on file, and be accompanied by a parent/guardian in the fitness room at all times.
Ages 16 and 17: Must complete a fitness orientation and have a parental consent form on file. Parental supervision is not required.
Indoor track
Members and guests can enjoy our 1/10-mile indoor walking and running track from open to close, seven days per week. Enjoy plenty of natural light and large windows overlooking the warm zone, splash zone, lobby, and the quiet, tree-lined streets of our Westcore Neighborhood.
Mobility devices (walkers, wheelchairs, crutches, etc.) and strollers (single-wide only) are welcome on our indoor track! To keep our facility neat and clean, please ensure that wheels are free of dirt and debris before using the indoor track.
