ADAPTIVE SWIM OPPORTUNITIES
HAC is for All!
Our Adaptive Swim open hours and Adaptive Swim lesson program provide safe, supportive, and fun water environments for those with unique intellectual and physical needs. Both offerings strive to build confidence and competency in the water for our adaptive participants. Other benefits can be derived too, such as improved balance, range of motion, and fitness.
ADAPTIVE SWIM LESSONS
For children ages 1 to 15, HAC’s adaptive swim lesson program focuses on water safety and competency for special needs participants. Through a systematic and fun approach, basic water skills are taught for gains in breath control, flotation, strength, balance, and gross motor skills. Social interaction is a key component to a special needs student’s success, too. Individualized lessons are tailored to each participant’s capabilities and goals.
Parents of children 1 to 3 years old must participate with their child in the lesson. All parents must be prepared to participate in the lessons if necessary.
Classes are held every Wednesday from 6 pm to 7 pm for one hour. The program runs from September 6 to October 11.
