Each year the Olympic Training Center (OTC) blocks off time for teams from all Olympic Sports from all over the country and the world to come and train in Colorado Springs (6350 elevation). This year Michigan Lakeshore Aquatics was granted 20 spaces to live and train at the OTC from January 29th to February 2nd. The swimmers chosen will gain access to all the benefits that National Team programs and elite athletes across the country are given. The OTC has a 50 meter pool for training, state of the art film
equipment for technique refinement, a massive weight room and dryland space and access to the OTC’s amazing food selection. OTC from January 29th to February 2nd. In addition to training the team will have the opportunity to work on nutrition and prepare themselves to fuel like an Olympian.
The group chosen to attend had to be in good standing with USA Swimming & have achieved at least one Central Zone Sectional Cut to be considered. This is a great honor for the team and for the state of Michigan as a whole to have a team selected to live and train at the Olympic Training Center. The group attending represents communities from all over West Michigan including Hamilton, Spring Lake, Grand Haven, Muskegon, Portland, Hudsonville, Holland, Jenison, Zeeland, West Ottawa & Black River.
