Holland Aquatic Center Partners with The Center for Physical Rehabilitation

HOLLAND, Mich. – Holland Aquatic Center has invited Grand Rapids-based The Center for Physical Rehabilitation (The Center) to bring their well-established reputation and expertise to town.

Beginning Tuesday, October 2, The Center’s therapists will offer rehabilitation and physical therapy services within HAC’s facilities, especially in a 2,474 square-foot dryland clinic and an adjacent therapy pool, both located in a dedicated area at HAC’s west entrance.

“This partnership aligns perfectly with our mission to inspire health and vitality in the Holland area,” says Jack Huisingh, executive director of Holland Aquatic Center. “We’re excited to help make The Center’s services convenient for lakeshore residents.”

With its new partnership in HAC, The Center now boasts 10 locations around West Michigan.

“We have been looking for just the right spot to be a part of the Holland community,” says Chris Nawrocki, CEO of The Center for Physical Rehabilitation. “For years, Holland Aquatic Center has been providing excellent health and wellness opportunities for the area. Likewise, The Center for Physical Rehabilitation has been serving the greater Grand Rapids region for almost 30 years. The collaboration between our teams will provide the next level of care to the Holland region. We will build on what HAC already provides by bringing a great physical therapy experience and offering cutting edge services.”

Matt Zitny, DPT

Matt Zitny, DPT, will be the clinic manager, as well as a therapist at HAC. He will lead a team that will provide a wide range of outpatient physical therapy services including specialties in orthopedic and sports medicine care. Some of these specialties include an emphasis on the overhead athlete such as swimmers and throwers, as well as advanced treatment techniques including dry needling and aqua therapy. This team is dedicated to patient recovery and prevention of future injury.

“I am looking forward to serving the lakeshore as a healthcare resource and am proud to work alongside HAC, who cares deeply about the wellness of their members and athletes,” Zitny says.

HAC is known throughout the region and state for providing exceptional aquatic instructional, competitive, recreational, and fitness programming. By partnering with The Center for Physical Rehabilitation, HAC now rounds out its commitment to wellness opportunities for all.

“We are dedicated to empowering healthy, connected lives at HAC,” says Amanda Duimstra, general manager of Holland Aquatic Center. “Having The Center on our premises gives us another opportunity to fulfill that mission to its fullest.”
