Financial aid for swim lessons at hac

At Holland Aquatic Center, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of a community recreation center, regardless of their financial situation.

As part of our commitment to serving “every age, every family, every day,” HAC is proud to offer financial assistance to make it possible for more community members to receive swim instruction.

Offering financial aid for memberships ensures that our pool is a welcoming and inclusive space where everyone can come together to relax, exercise, and socialize.

Who Is Eligible for Financial Assistance?

Holland Aquatic Center is proud to offer financial assistance for swim lesson registration fees with support from the HAC Foundation. In order to apply for financial aid, your household must meet specific income criteria that is consistent with other area support services. If your annual pre-tax income is at or below the 200% poverty line (see chart below), your family is eligible to apply for financial assistance. Please note that this criteria is subject to change.

  • Drowning is the leading preventable cause of death for children ages 0-4. Because of this statistic, this age group is our target for swim lesson financial assistance. Children beyond this age range or those requiring adaptive lessons will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  • If you have received financial aid for your child’s swim lessons, that child will not be eligible for further aid for six months. After a child has received financial assistance twice, they are no longer eligible for consideration. We have limited funds available and want to ensure that as many children as possible are able to access these life-saving lessons.
  • Families with multiple children in this age group can receive financial assistance. Their discount code will be applied at checkout.
  • We cannot guarantee that your financial aid application will be reviewed and accepted in time for a specific session. For this reason, please plan ahead and apply early!
