You’re never too old to try something new!
Bob Hitesman
This summer, Bob Hitesman (80) started swimming with our MLA Master’s program in preparation for his first ever swim meet. At first, he was nervous, but he quickly proved to his coach and teammates that he was a strong swimmer who was eager to learn the best technique and strategy for his upcoming race.
Bob swam at the Michigan Senior Olympics on Monday, August 12. He sped past his competition in the 50 Freestyle, winning the 80-84 age group by 24 seconds! Now that his race is over, Bob is continuing to swim with MLA Masters. He has his sights set on swimming in more swim meets next year and has goals of perfecting his flip turns.
MLA Masters is a program for swimmers 18 and over that want to improve stroke efficiency and strength in a team setting. All skill and experience levels are welcome. Whether you want to feel confident completing a practice, are preparing for a swim meet, or training for a distance swim or triathlon, our MLA Masters coach, Sara, will help you meet your goals. MLA Masters meets M-W-F, 5:45-7 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.-12 p.m. so that you can get in a workout regardless of your schedule.
