December Wellness Challenge: Progressive Planks

It’s getting chilly outside… let’s warm up the holidays by doing a 30-day progressive plank challenge!

There are five weeks in December, so let’s make them count. Each week, we’ll add 10 seconds to your plank, working our way up to a full minute by the end of the month.

How to participate:

  1. Pick up a Wellness Challenge tracking handout at the 2nd floor Fitness Desk. Please record your planks on this handout using the honor system!
  2. Week 1: Do a plank on the floor (standard or modified) or against the wall and hold for at least 20 seconds. Repeat for a total of four days in the first week of December.
  3. Week 2: Hold a plank for at least 30 seconds, and repeat for a total of four days in the second week of December.
  4. Week 3: Hold a plank for at least 40 seconds, and repeat for a total of four days in the third week of December.
  5. Week 4: Hold a plank for at least 50 seconds, and repeat for a total of four days in the fourth week of December.
  6. Week 5: Hold a plank for at least 60 seconds for each of the last four days of December.

Participation in the challenge is $5 for members and $15 for non-members. You must register and pay on Daxko by Sunday, December 7, to be eligible for entry into the prize drawing. If you complete the Progressive Plank Challenge, please turn in your tracking handout to the 2nd floor Fitness Desk by January 9. You’ll then be entered to win a fabulous raffle prize!
